Why Moses Will Live 6 Times & Die 3 Times Revealed

SUMMARY

Moses led the Children of God from Egyptian slavery to the Promised Land in c.1500 B.C. He lived till the age of 120, died and was buried in the Valley of Moab (Deuteronomy 34:5-6). In 33 A.D. his intelligent spirit was resurrected from the Land of the Dead {Sheol} along with the spirit of the prophet Elijah. There, they held an impromptu meeting with Jesus that came to be known as the Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-8; Mark 9:2-8; Luke 9:28-36 ). This meeting was witnessed at a distance by Peter, James and John. Luke tells us that Moses and Elijah did not talk to Jesus but with Him. And while the three disciples could not hear distinctly any of the conversation, Luke cites Peter as saying he heard them mention the word "departure" or exodus concerning Jesus. Peter did not use the word death. So what did they discuss?

Moses and Elijah obviously had nothing to convey to Jesus as they had spent the last one thousand plus years in the Land of the Dead. They were enjoying a well deserved rest when they suddenly found themselves being raptured up out of Sheol and were now on a mountain top face to face with their Messiah. Jesus may or may not have had to introduce Himself to them. But He no doubt got right down to business.

First He would have explained to them His imminent sacrificial death in Jerusalem to negate the sin debts of mankind. That this act would be followed by His burial and His spiritual descent into Sheol to bring the Good News of salvation and eternal life first to the righteous dead. This would also explain why the bodies of the righteous dead will be resurrected first at the Great Rapture of the Church. Then Jesus would have further explained His physical resurrection followed by His rapturing all the righteous spirits held in Sheol up into Heaven. And, after spending an additional forty days on earth preaching and teaching His disciples, He would have told them of His own ascension back into Heaven.

Finally, He would have explained to them that while He would spiritually release them from Sheol, they were destine to physically return back to the earth to finish their interrupted ministries. There they would preach of His Second Coming during the final 3 1/2 years of the Great Tribulation Period and that they would become known as the prophesied "Two Witnesses" as cited the Book of Revelation (Revelation 11:3-12).

After this meeting, their no doubt exhausted spirits were returned back down into Sheol to now rest up for their final mission. So the term "departure" that Luke cited could have been a reference to any number of raptures, resurrections and ascensions mentioned by Jesus at the meeting. Please see related: "Mystery of the Transfiguration Revealed"

The Apostle Paul informed us that all righteous spirits were lead out of Sheol by Christ and into Heaven on Resurrection Sunday evening (Ephesians 4:8-10). Moses is now waiting, as are we all, for the Great Rapture to occur. At this time, his body along with all the righteous dead, will be physically resurrected from the earth and ascend into the air. Their spirits will re-indwell their bodies, and all will ascend into Heaven. There they will attend the Marriage and Supper of the Lamb (Revelation 19:7-10). It is now that we read in the Book of Revelation that the Bride of Christ has become "His Wife". So the Rapture, Wedding and Supper take place before the Second Coming!

Three and one half years into the 7 year Tribulation Period, Moses, along with Elijah, will appear back on earth. For the next 3 1/2 years they will help evangelize the earth both Jew and gentile. Then, just days before the Second Coming of Christ, both will be executed marking their second physical deaths. After three days both will be physically resurrected a second time and publicly raptured into Heaven (Revelation 11:7-12). Then several days later, Moses along with all the raptured saints, will escort Christ back down to the earth (Revelation 19:14). This will be his fourth appearance on the earth and he will be part of the Millennial Reign of Christ in Jerusalem.

Millennial Reign of Christ on Earth

He lived six times: 1) He lived to the age of 120. 2) His intelligent spirit body was brought up from Sheol, the Land of the dead, to meet and talk with Christ on earth. 3) His living resurrected body was reunited with his spirit during the Great Rapture. 4) He was physically sent back to earth 3 1/2 years from the end of the Tribulation Period to evangelize. 5) He was assassinated, but arose from the dead and raptured into Heaven. 6) He will accompany Christ back to the earth at His Second Coming. So, Moses will have lived on earth six different times.

He died three times. 1) He died at the age of 120 and was buried. 2) He was brought back from the dead to meet with Christ, but then sent back to Sheol. 3) He was assassinated by the Antichrist, but was resurrected and raptured. So Moses died three times.

THE DEEP DIVE

Abraham

The story of Moses and the Jewish race begins with a man named Abraham. In c.2,000 B.C., he was told by God to travel to a land that would be forever given to him and his offspring (Genesis 12:1-4; Genesis 15:7-8). He migrated from Babylonia northwest to the land of Canaan named after Noah’s illegitimate grandson. Please see related: “Why Noah Cursed His Step-Grandson Revealed”. There Abraham had a son named Isaac who had a son named Jacob. Around 1,700 B.C. a severe famine occurred in the land of Canaan. So Jacob, now 130 years old, moved his extended family of 70 people directly south to Egypt. With the help of his estranged son, Joseph, they settled in the land of Goshen located in the lush Nile Delta. The family lived and flourished in Egypt for approximately 400 years.

Moses Talked With God

It was at the end of this period that Moses was born. His father was Amram and his mother Jochebed. He had an older sister Miriam from which the name Mary is derived, and an older brother Aaron. The family was Jewish so Moses was originally given a Jewish name that has been lost in antiquity. Just prior to his birth, the ruling Pharaoh of Egypt was Thutmose I. The second part of his name ‘mose’ means drawn out of. The first part of his name ‘Thut’ means the god Thoth. So, Thutmose was considered divinely conceived by an Egyptian god and thus god like in his knowledge and power. Thutmose I had become alarmed that the Jewish population had out grown the native Egyptian population. His concern was that the Jews had achieved integral positions in the countries financial, military, civil, legal, medical and agricultural affairs. This meant that should they decide to rebel against his rule, they could easily over take the nation. So, he ordered that all newborn Jewish boys were to be euthanized at birth. Preferably, they were to be drowned in the Nile River as a sacrifice to Hapi, the god of the Nile, then to be eaten by Sobek god of the Egyptian crocodile. Jewish girls were allowed to live as they would now marry Egyptian males.

Nile Crocodile Weighting Over One Ton

In ancient times, the Nile crocodile was not hunted so it was allowed to attain its full age of 100 years. A crocodile this old would have measured twenty three feet long and weighted in excess of a two thousand pounds. These ferocious monsters are referred to in the Bible as Leviathans (Job 40:15-18; Job 41:1-10; Isaiah 27:1; Psalm 104;26).

Pharaoh's Daughter Came to Pray, Leaves With Moses

When Moses was three months old, the family came up with a possible way to save his life. They were aware that pharaoh’s daughter and her entourage regularly went down to the Nile to bathe and worship. Moses’ mother weaved a basket and lined it with a waterproof petroleum product known as pitch. Then she put Moses in the basket and carefully placed it among the bullrushes near the shore just prior to the princess's arrival. Miriam then watched to see if Moses would be discovered (Exodus 2: 3-6). The princess heard the baby crying and saw the basket. She had one of her servant maids bring it to her. She looked inside and saw Moses. She could see the baby was circumcised and therefore a Hebrew. Still, she had pity on it and its certain fate in the river. Immediately Miriam approached the princess and asked if she would like for her to find a woman who could nurse the hungry child. The princess said yes and Moses’ mother was hired as a nurse maid (Exodus 2:7-9).

Jewish children were typically weaned and on solid food at one year of age. It was probably at that time the child was presented to the princess who officially adopted him. She named him Moses using the part of her father’s name which means drawn out of, or conceived by god. This was because he was drawn out of waters of the Nile (Exodus 2:10). But, unknown to the princess, Moses was destined to carry out a mission by his God that would be devastating to her family. Because Moses was raised in pharaoh’s court during a time when the Jews had become enslaved, he probably had limited contact with his family. Still, He would have been taught the history of his people and stories of the Promise Land that they had left four hundred years earlier.

Thutmose II: The Man Who Met Moses Face to Face

On an interesting note, Thutmose’s mummy is on display in the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. Incredibly, this means one can actually stand face to face with the man who was forced by God to free all the Jews of his nation. Then, days later, watch helplessly as his entire army was drowned trying to force march the Jews back into Egypt (Exodus 14: 23-28).

As a prince in Pharaoh's court, Moses received a world class education in religion, history, science, medicine, literature and even the art of warfare. He was eventually appointed Chief of the Military. According to the historian Josephus, he was honored for devising a strategy to defeat the kingdom of Ethiopia by entering the country by way of what was thought to be an impassable route through the desert.

At the age of forty, Moses accidently killed an Egyptian Task Master who was beating a Jewish slave (Exodus 2:11). He tried to hide the corpse, but Pharaoh found out and announced that Moses was to be executed for his crime (Exodus 2:15). So, he fled Egypt by crossing the Red Sea and headed northeast into the Arabian Peninsula. He finally settled on the east shore of the Gulf of Aqaba in the land of Median. There he stayed with a gentile priest of Yahweh named Jethro. Moses married his daughter Zipporah and fathered two sons, Eliezer and Gershom. For the next forty years, Moses would remain a common sheepherder with a small family in a tiny forgotten village deep in the Arabian desert.

Moses and the Burning Bush That Was Not Consumed

One day while looking for a lost sheep, Moses now eighty years old, happened upon a bush that burned but was not consumed. As he approached this miraculous sight, a voice spoke to him from out of the bush. He was told he was now in the presence of God and that it was time for him to go back to Egypt and confront Pharaoh (Exodus 3: 2-5). The Pharaoh at this time was the princess’ brother Thutmose II (1513-1500 B.C.). Moses had grown up with him somewhat like a stepbrother. Therefore, Moses took God’s command to return to Egypt as a death sentence and tried valiantly to refuse this mission. But God would not be denied.

On an interesting note, Pharaoh Thutmose II tomb was discovered in 2022. Also discovered was his wife Queen Hatshepsut’s mummy. The Queen’s remains show she died from cancer. Her tomb included a 3,500 year old bottle. In the bottle was a skin salve she was using to treat a chronic (cancerous) skin disease. Unfortunately for her, the salve included creosote and asphalt both know today to be extremely carcinogenic.

After a series of negotiations with God, Moses reluctantly went back to Egypt. On behalf of God, he pronounced a series of 10 incredibly dramatic and destructive plagues on Egypt. And, each plague was specifically designed to destroy the particular service that each of ten major Egyptian gods were worshipped for providing. The final plague caused the death of not only each first born child in Egypt, it even involved the death of every first born animal in Egypt (Exodus 11:4-6). By killing every first born animal, God was showing pharaoh that this could only have been accomplished by the God of the Hebrews, and not by Hebrew assassins who could not have known which animals were first born. Having lost his first born son, pharaoh relented and set the Jewish population free to follow Moses back to the Promised Land. Scholars are in disagreement as to how many Jews made the exodus from Egypt. The Bible states that 605,550 men over the age of twenty were in the exodus. If women and children are factored in, the total was between 2.5 and 3 million people including some Egyptians (Exodus 12:38).

Moses Leads the Exodus Out of Egypt and Into the Wilderness

The trip from the Egyptian border north of the Nile valley to the southern border of Judah is a ten day walk. It was during this time that Moses met with God on Mount Sinai and received the Ten Commandments. However, upon arriving at the Judean border, the Jews revolted against his leadership and refused to enter the land. They were very concerned that the land was occupied by ten nations with great armies, some containing Nephilim or Giants. God cursed all those 20 years old and older because of their lack of faith in Him. The Jewish nation would now wander aimlessly in the barren and harsh desert of the Sinai for over forty years until all the original adults died of old age and exhaustion. It would be the children of the exodus generation that would finally enter the land. On the upside of this forty year curse and death march, the peoples' sandals never wore out (Deuteronomy 29:5). By this time, Zipporah had died and Moses had remarried a second gentile woman this time from Ethiopia.

During the forty years of wandering, Moses wrote the first five Books of the Old Testament known as the Torah. He was the perfect man for this task having received a first rate education in the court of pharaoh. However, during the Exodus, he once again lost his temper with the constantly complaining Hebrews. His sin against God was that he struck a rock with his staff in order to produce much needed water. He did not realize that the rock was an early symbolic representation of the future Messiah who would end the temporary Law system and replace it with grace and mercy. Thus, Moses was ordered by God to only talk to the rock in order to produce water. However, He decided instead to strike it and in doing so, flagrantly disobeyed God’s command. His punishment under the Law was swift and debilitating. He was forbidden by God to enter the Promise Land at this time.

God Allows Moses to See the Promise Land

At the age of 120, God led Moses up to the top of Mount Nebo in the Kingdom of Jordan. There he looked west across the Jordan River and was shown in a vison the Promise Land from north to south and east to west. It was then and there that Moses died. The Jews believe God took Moses’ life with a kiss. Today this act is known as the kiss of death. Moses’ body was buried by the Archangel Michael according to the directive of God, in a valley in the land of Moab. However, an argument ensued between Michael and Lucifer concerning Moses’ corpse (Jude 1:9). It seems Lucifer believed He now had the right to destroy the remains of Moses as he had sinned against God. Lucifer may have also wanted to personally destroy the body of Moses in a way that left no trace of decay. This was because God pronounced a curse on the serpent by stating that he would, “eat dust of the earth all the days of your life.” (Genesis 3:14). And Satan would be extremely repulsed to have to breath in the dust of Moses especially when, “God spoke to Moses face to face as a man speaks to a friend.” (Exodus 33:11)

Lucifer Confronts Michael for Moses' Body

However, God had four reasons why he wanted Moses body safely buried by Michael. First, Moses was called a friend of God. While he did not actually see the face of God, he did speak freely with God and was allowed once to see His back as He passed by (Exodus 33:20-23). Who Moses talked to and what image he saw would have been a preexistent form of the Word of God {Christ} known as a Christophany. Second, God knew that Moses, along with the great prophet Elijah, would eventually be spiritually resurrected at the Transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:1-4). Third, Moses and Elijah were told by Jesus at the Transfiguration that they would be physically resurrected and appear in Israel during the reign of the Antichrist. They are the two Prophets as cited in the Book of Revelation (Revelation 11:3-13). Interestingly, in this way, Moses would at last be allowed to enter the promise land and see all that his people had accomplished. And last but not least, God knew He could not publicly bury Moses as the Jews would quicky began to worship him and the site. You see, the children of Israel had just come out of Egypt which was one of the most ancient and pagan of all middle eastern nations. There they were introduced to the idea of worshiping multiple deities. Therefore, God did not want to further confuse them by allowing this great leader, prophet and miracle worker to have a shrine for worship built in his honor. Moses was a great man but he was also a creation and not divine or eternal. Also God was not ready at this time to reveal to his children that He existed as a Triune Godhead. Again, this would only confuse a race who were already in a fragile physical, emotional and spiritual state of being.

So, Moses was an antihero; the quintessential outsider in every respect. He born a Jew but was named after a pharaoh. His people were poor and enslaved, but he grew up wealthy and free in a royal palace. His people believed in a single Creator God. He grew up under a culture that worshipped a pantheon of gods. His people followed the customs delivered on Mount Sinai. He grew up under the ancient customs of Egypt. In addition, he was a convicted murderer for the killing of an Egyptian. He was an escapee from the justice of the law. He hid in a pagan country and married a gentile women instead of one from his tribe of the Levi’s. He now lived the life of a common sheepherder, the lowest of occupations. He initially refused God’s leadership role for him to go save his people from over 400 years of slavery. God threatened to kill him for his disobedience in not circumcising his son. His wife accused him of participating in child abuse (Exodus 4:25). The Israeli tribal leaders did not initially trust that he was sent from God. During the Exodus, they repeatedly turned against him and threatened to return to Egypt. His people adamantly refused to follow him into the Promise Land. His own brother and sister turned on him for his lack of leadership skills, and also because he married yet another gentile woman after the death of Zipporah, his first wife. He went against the clear instructions of God while in the wilderness and struck the symbolic rock of Christ and thus was denied entrance into his ancestorial land. He was literally killed by the hand of his own God. He did not receive a burial service nor was he buried by his people in his own land. Instead, he was buried in an unmarked grave in the wilderness desert.

Transfiguration Witnessed By Peter, James & John

Then, 1,500 years later, He would be brought back from Sheol by Jesus during His Transfiguration. At that time, He learned that, while his original mission was interrupted and 1,500 years had passed, God was not done with him yet. In 2,000 years, he would be physically resurrected and once again serve as a prophet and miracle worker for an additional 3 1/2 years in an effort to awaken his spiritually blind people. And for his heroic efforts, he would eventually be publicly executed by the forces of the Antichrist. His body would then be allowed to putrefy in the sweltering streets of Jerusalem for 3 1/2 days while his people celebrated his death. Then, he would be resurrected and raptured into Heaven only to return back to earth days later with Jesus his Messiah at the Second Coming.

Jesus' Second Coming Followed by His Saints

Moses is also in many ways like the Jews of Israel today...strangers in the world and even in their own land. They are considered outsiders by the entire Arab race, and considered spiritually blind by their Creator God (Romans 11:25). They were forced to roam the earth for the past two thousand years trying to find a safe city (Numbers 35:10-12). This was their burden as they committed the unimaginable crime of conspiring with Rome to have their Messiah executed (John 18:29-35). And even today, the Jews continue to adamantly deny that Jesus is LORD. In the words of the prophet Balaam, “…behold … the people {Jewish race} will dwell alone, and will not be reckoned {regarded} among the nations.”(Numbers 23:9)

On a closing note, just before his death, God instructed Moses to turn his leadership role over to Joshua and not his sons. The name Jesus is derived from the name Joshua. His son Eliezer {meaning God help} died during the forty years of wandering in the wilderness. His son Gershon {meaning a stranger} was never listed in the Bible as creating a tribe that was divinely inspired nor achieved greatness through leadership. Gershon would have a grandson named Jonathan that would become the first high priest of the first organized system of idolatry in Israel. This cult was supported by the tribe of Dan, one of the twelve sons of Jacob.

Dan was the only son Jacob did not assign a territory. The cult existed for several hundred years. The tribe of Dan originally tried to settle on the Mediterranean coast, but could not defeat the immigrant Philistines (Joshua 19:40-46). So, the tribe migrated northeast to a small land located just south of the border with Lebanon and west of the border with Assyria (Judges 18:1). The tribe was under constant pressure from its warring neighbors. They eventually gave up living in Judah and are thought to have migrated west beyond the Mediterranean sea and disappeared from Biblical history. According to the Book of Judges, the Song of Deborah states that the tribe of Dan was seafaring. Many Jewish scholars believe that the tribe decided to leave Israel and sailed west across the Mediterranean Sea past Spain. They then headed north eventually colonizing a desolate land that became known as Danmark today known as Denmark (Hebrewnations.com, “Dan in Denmark”). The first texts that mention Jews in Denmark date to c.1000 A.D.

It is believed by many Biblical scholars that a Jew from the lost tribe of Dan will be instrumental in creating and convincing the Jews of Israel to support an Arab-Israeli peace treaty agreement. This is because a member from the the tribe of Dan would be seen as somewhat neutral. The negotiator is Jewish which the Jews will appreciate, but was not granted a territory in Israel by Jacob which the Arabs will appreciate. Today, this ongoing treaty project is known as the Abrahamic Peace Accord. And it will be this man of Jewish heritage, yet considered of European {Roman Empire} origin, who will rise up and become the infamous Antichrist (Genesis 49:16-17). Further, when the Palestinians finally sign this peace treaty with Israel, the 7 year Tribulation Period will officially begin.

The Antichrist Also Know as the Beast

We have now come full circle. The six thousand year old Age of the Rule of Mankind begins and ends with Adam and a distant grandson by way of Jacob. From Adam to Abraham was 2,000 years. From Abraham to Jesus was 2,000 years. From Jesus until today is 2,000 years. So, we have a total of 6,000 years from Adam to the Antichrist. Six is the number of mankind. God created all life on the earth in six days and rested on the seventh. "One day with the LORD is as a thousand years...." (II Peter 3:8). Many Bible scholars believe we have reached the end of a 6,000 year Age of the Rule of Man on Earth. According to the Book of Revelation, the next Age in God’s timeline is the Millennial {1,000 year} Age of the Rule of Christ on Earth. This Age is described as one of peace and rest. This current Age will end on the last day of the War of Armageddon. This war is only about one issue, who will the people of the earth worship. Will it be their unknown Creator God, or a brilliant and acclaimed man known as the Antichrist? The last day of the war is known as the "Day of the LORD". At that time, Jesus {God incarnate} will appear in the skies over Israel and destroy the Antichrist {a man} with only His appearance (II Thessalonians 2:8).

"Henceforth I Call You ... Friend;" (John 15:15)

A final thought. Jesus is a direct descendant of Abraham and Jacob through his son Judah whose tribe is considered the creator of Kings. The Antichrist is a direct descendant of Abraham and Jacob through his son Dan who was not assigned a territory in the Promised Land and mysteriously disappeared from the pages of the Bible. Fascinating!
